EXALTING HIS NAME
When
the children of Israel
came out of Egypt Yahweh
commanded Moses to have
Aaron (And the Priesthood)
to speak a blessing over
them. This was to
be done regularly and to
be done specifically.
That is, Yahweh told
Moses exactly what Aaron
was to say. You can
find it recorded in
Numbers 6.
Yahweh
bless you and keep you.
Yahweh
make His face shine upon
you and be gracious to
you.
Yahweh
lift up His countenance
upon you and give you
peace.
Aaron
and the priest were to
speak those exact words.
Yahweh then said to Moses,
And they shall put
MY NAME upon the children
of Israel and I will
bless them.
In
our translations we find
the proper name removed
and a generic title
inserted so that it reads,
The Lord bless you.
But in the original
the proper name
Yahweh is
used. It is very
clear from what was said
to Moses that without the
use of the Name
this command cannot be
obeyed. Aaron was
to put THE NAME of Yahweh
on them.
Oh
what have we allowed to
be stolen from us when we
allowed the Name to be
taken out of usage?
I
understand that it is
commonly taught and
accepted that:
* His Name is too
holy to speak
* His has many
names
* It doesnt
really matter what we
call Him. He knows
who we are speaking to.
But
those are the teachings
of men. Not
Scripture.
The
next time you read your
Bible, pay close
attention to all the
places your translation
uses the title the
Lord using all
capitals. This is
the translators way of
telling you that in the
original language the
proper name of our God
was used (6823 times):
Yahweh. Instead of
using the title that they
inserted use His Name and
you will clearly see that
we are commanded over and
over to use it, praise it,
call on it and exalt it.
Numbers
6 is one such place.
PUT MY NAME UPON THEM was
the command.
Psalm
34:3 says, O
magnify Yahweh with me
let us exalt His Name
together.
Psalm
103:1 says, Bless
Yahweh O my soul
and all that is within me
bless His Holy Name.
You
get the picture. There
are many such examples.
The Name was always meant
to be known and used.
Now you know!
